Lake Metonga, Fun for the Whole Family … for Generations to Come!

Clean Boats - Clean Waters

  • Download our Invasive Species Best-Practices Brochure

Unfortunately, Lake Metonga is home to several aquatic invasive species. These invasives were introduced into the lake through recreational users years ago. Several other invasive species have been found in Wisconsin, but not in Lake Metonga, yet... Therefore, it is important to follow the Clean Boats / Clean Waters Initiative to protect all lakes, rivers and other Wisconsin waters, including Lake Metonaga.

The Lake Metonga Association has CB-CW staff at both boat launches during busy summer hours to assist. Please be sure that your boat trailer, bilge and live wells are clean of any milfoil or other invasives before entering and when leaving Lake Metonga. Review the invasive species section of our website for specific information on the invasives found in Lake Metonga.

The association administers the CB-CW program with generous grant funding from the WDNR and the Mole Lake Sokaogon Chippewa Community.

If you are interested in being a paid boat launch inspector for part time summer season hours, please contact the Lake Metonga CB-CW Co-ordinator, Kim Reed at kmsreed@gmail.com or call (920)639-4332.
